War

April 11, 2007

I don’t try to be too political on here. Occasionally I have my opinion and spout my beliefs and ideas but I tend to try and keep a lot to myself. I have very little desire to be another micro-terabyte (if there is such a thing) on the blip of the internet.

However, I found this article vastly interesting and very intellectually stimulating (look for the link at the end of this blurb). It was well put together and frankly, I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been saying for years that the American public (and by extension the elected) is what will ‘lose’ the war in Iraq for us, not the ability of our military – which is far and away the best trained military in the world.

Section 3 of the article is particularly interesting as it makes comparison and contrast to the failed French Algeria insurgency of the late 1950s.

Would love to hear opinions?
