Best Show on Television…Who?

I have been a fan since I first saw Tom Baker (yes, I was of this age) way back in the late 70s. It was the only TV show my mom and I could agree on. So I must say I was really looking forward to this new incarnation.
I have now officially finished watching the entire first season. This is easily the best show on TV. Don’t care what other people think. The writing is brilliant. The stories are smashing and the acting is marvelous beyond words.
Christopher Eccleston is ‘fantastic.’ Billie Piper is wonderful. The supporting cast from Mum to Mickey to Captain Jack are all terrific.
The stories themselves and the writing is just witty and smart with out resorting to fast talking gimmicks or quirky line deliveries. They are surprising and edge of your seat and keep me ready and willing to continue to watch more.
With Eccleston bowing out I made the error of watching the very last episode of the second season. Well, not so much an error really. I knew Rose was leaving and I wanted to see how it happened. Again, FANTASTIC. And while David Tennant’s Doctor isn’t Eccleston’s I’m still totally enamored and love him. Can’t wait to watch the 12 episodes before it so I can get all caught up.
Filmmakers and storytellers in general (and American storytellers and filmmakers could REALLY learn a lot here) should take note on how this show is produced, written and delivered.
