A few weeks ago I one a contest over at the site of the Unseen Blogger. As a reward, I was bequeathed with one of the most awesome artifacts of the ancient and/or modern world. The astounding Eye of Ra!
Below is a picture of me utilizing this great and powerful object to coherce my wife into picking up the digital camera and aiming it in my direction. A feat that, until this moment, was though impossible.

My World?

Fun with testing. A friend sent this and I amused myself for 10 minutes while taking the test.
| The Sword of Truth Your world is 19% Sophisticated, 40% Unconventional, and 62% Intense! |
|
You’ve been dropped into the Midlands. A land of wizards and dragons and brave warriors fighting evil tyranny. A land where the ending to every story is almost exactly the same, where the good guys always win but always at great cost and terrible risk. A land of drama and beauty and… aw hell, and the typical, implausable, and unoriginal. Unlike those poor sods ditched in Faerun, at least you’ll have an intense time of things, though you’ll probably die fairly quickly unless you’re the protagonist or a central character on the ‘good’ side, protected by prophecy and lazy storytelling and all that. |

Here We Go…
Posted on August 24, 2005 | Filed Under Life in NC
Grad school officially began for me yesterday.
Orientation has been taking place. Lots of info. Lots of new faces. Lots of responsibilities. I’m already tired just thinking about it.
It’s an interesting assortment of people. Most of them are fairly fresh out of undergrad. A few ‘took a few years off’ before going back to grad school. I’m definitely the old man of the two year class, but that’s no surprise.
One of my classmates, Laura, is one of the top collegiate shot-putters in the world. She competed at the Olympics in Athens. That’s pretty darn cool. Another is from the Ukraine, one is from Trinidad. Most of the others are from Hometown, USA.
We have to wear uniforms when we teach. I’m teaching Swim Conditioning, Exercise and Conditioning, and the Triathlon classes. Mindcrime will add something pithy to this, I’m certain.
Off we go. It’s going to be an interesting two years.
