About all I’ve had for free time lately has been Jack and Squat. Today is the first day in 9 days that I’ve had a moment to myself.
What has been occupying my time? Well, studying for one thing. I’ve been busting my butt the past week and a half getting ready for an Anatomy test I had yesterday. Didn’t go well. Obviously since I haven’t taken a written exam in about 14 years my ability to process and retain; the entire skeletal system, plus the various landmarks on each bone as well as 25 different muscles comprising the upper extremities of the appendicular skeleton, as well as their functions and nerve enervators, is sorely lacking. I went to all labs, every class, read the chapters and studied about two hours a day. Either that isn’t enough and I need to do more or I gotta figure out a way to retain the information better.
However, to my credit, I will say that if you ASK me about the above subject, I could tell you just about everything from the class. I just didn’t seem to process it down on paper very well.
Next, I got a call early last week about a certain theatre around here that had lost an actor and they needed an immediate replacement to step in. I was available (it fit in perfectly with my school schedule) and so I took it because it’ll virtually pay for all of my first year of school. But this has also cut in seriously to any down time I’ve had.
And last, trying to cram in a swim, bike or run here and there has been about as easy as getting C.J. (formerly known as Mindcrime) back to the states.
So, in a nutshell, I’ve gotten very acquainted with Jack (who hoards free time like a bee hoards honey) and Squat (who insists that he neither stole the clock nor killed Father Time but I don’t believe him.)
